Tim Aguilar
Tim Aguilar founded Omega8 to give enterprise leaders judgment on AI, not another tool rollout.
That judgment reflects years in board and advisory rooms: board advisor to Kaseya (current) and previously to Intel and Barracuda; board director at Orca Health, the Discovery Space Center, and the Caeli Foundation. He also mentors through BYU's Marriott School entrepreneurial program and has served on boards focused on technology, STEM education, and the sciences.
Through Calculated Research and Technology (CR-T), founded in 1991, he has spent about 35 years in material, hardware, and software licensing leaning toward security; managed services and managed security services; and project and staff augmentation across app development, AI work, and SQL — work that is mostly agile, with waterfall where hardware migrations demand it.
Omega8 stands alone from CR-T, though CR-T may be drawn on as a resource as Omega8 gets started.
“I enjoy helping companies and individuals find their way through the thick of things.”
Advisory rooms, not just operating roles.
Simple on purpose.
Omega8 engagements reflect the operating-model view: a short executive entry, a roadmap, and a focused assessment where warranted.
Evaluate AI readiness, priority use cases, and implementation direction.
The full strategy: decisions, data, governance, platform, and sequence.
An assessment of AI exposure and opportunity across a portfolio.
Leadership, backed by a practitioner bench.
Omega8 pairs senior leadership with a bench of practitioners who have deep operating experience.
Architecture across large, mixed estates, legacy and modern. AI-assisted engineering workflows, including automated review that catches security and quality issues before they reach production, plus API and pricing infrastructure built to last.
Kubernetes, containers, GitOps, and infrastructure as code across cloud and on-prem environments. CI/CD pipelines, event-driven systems, and the training that leaves internal teams able to run what was built.
Retrieval pipelines, vector databases, and agent orchestration, on top of data ingestion, warehousing, and analytics. Cloud migrations and multi-agent systems designed for scale, security, and monitoring.
Lean operations, value-stream design, and planning in SAP and Oracle environments, paired with analytics and LLM-powered internal tooling. Document and workflow automation, plus the change leadership to make new ways of working stick.
AI is not a software feature. It is an operating model decision.
